About
I started this blog because I got tired of yelling at the TeeVee.
I wouldn’t classify myself as a liberal. Nor do I classify myself as a conservative. I do lean a little right of the middle of the road.
I don’t like the idea of gun control, and I don’t support gun control.
I support abortion in the first 2 trimesters, but I don’t support partial birth abortion, unless the mother’s life is at stake. I support abortion in all cases to save the life of the mother, in cases of rape, and in cases of incest. I don’t believe men should have anything to say on this issue.
I believe in stem cell research, and I’m not stupid enough to believe that if we don’t do it, other countries in the world won’t do it either. It’s just a matter of whether you want to be driving the train or bringing up the rear. This is one of those paradoxes that we humans are so good at creating: If you don’t support stem cell research, does that also mean you’ll deny yourself and your family the benefits derived from that research, such as implantation of stem cells to cure diabetes or to fight cancer or to extend your life?
I believe that Government is too big, that taxes are too high, and that not all social programs are a good idea.
I believe if you want to really mess something up, let the Government run it for awhile.
I believe that only brain dead people do not change their positions when new evidence calls for it. I also believe that fanatics–on either side of the spectrum–are dangerous, because they are mindless zealots, and mindless zealotry is dangerous.
I believe that our culture has become one of non-thinking, buzz word repeating androids.
I have a great deal of disdain for the following, in order of detestability, with Number 1 being the most detestable:
- Politicans
- Lawyers
- Corporate CEOs
- Business Consultants and the “In Search of Excellence” crowd
- Car Dealers
And, yes, Mac Williams is a pen name. Because the organization I work for frowns on its employees having any kind of political opinion either in the workplace or out.
