Silly Sarah And The Case Of The Missing Stimulus Funds
This time, that silly Sarah Palin is apparently somewhat quasi-troubled about the fact that the Defense Department only received a small portion of the stimulus package. She is, of course (and as usual) missing the point. So, boys and girls, let’s see if we can help Silly Sarah out.
First, let’s get our facts together:
- The stimulus package is equal to $787 billion.
- According to the Department of Defense budget for 2009, the defense budget is $651.2 billion. Adding to its haul in the 2009 budget, the Defense Department also received an additional $7.4 billion from the stimulus package. This makes the total budget for the Defense Department $658.6 billion for this year.
Now then, Sarah, try to keep up:
Defense Budget for this year = $658.6 billion
Stimulus Package one shot deal now playing at a recession near you to help the economy = $787 billion
I would, under normal circumstances, ask a reasonably intelligent person what the military needs with money from the stimulus package in the first place. But in this case the fundamental test of reasonable intelligence isn’t met.
Oh! And lest we forget, Silly Sarah, the stimulus package was designed to help American businesses and Main Street pull out of the recession. Not fund the military. You remember Main Street, don’t you Sarah sweetie? The everyday working people you threw under the bus when you decided you could make more money from your PAC and your rivetingly intelligent public speaking engagements and your Sarah Palin pop-up book?
Guess not.
Anyway, Bubbles, here’s the deal: You’re basically (and as usual) full of s**t.
Now do us all a favor and click those ruby slippered heels together and repeat: “There’s no place like Nome…There’s no place like Nome…” and go back to where you came from and stay there.
