I wasn’t going to write about Jon and Kate Gosselin. It seemed to be old news. Kind of dying down on its own and being pushed off the front page by the recent Wave of Celebrity Death. I thought Jon and Kate would just drift out of the spotlight and deal with their problems in private.

I was wrong.

In a true display of media whoredom, Jon and Kate via TLC issued a joint statement that, to paraphrase, said they would not make any more comments or react to media stories and speculation. Their goal, according to the press release is “to do the very best for our children and that will be done as privately as possible.”

So let me get this straight. You issued a statement to say you’re not issuing any more statements.

Heidi and Spencer would be so proud.

  Excellent. I liked the show back when they were doing it for the kids. Waaa another fantasy ruined.
